Colourful Kitchens: Dream Kitchen Projects

Choosing the colour is a crucial decision when designing your dream kitchen. In recent years, Google searches for ‘what colour to paint the kitchen’ have increased significantly, showing just how central colour is to every kitchen design.  Below, we have gathered a selection of colourful kitchen projects created by Officine Gullo around the world, each with its own unique story and character.

Yellow Kitchens

Yellow radiates energy and warmth, confirming itself as one of the year’s 12 most popular kitchen colours. In Val d’Orcia, a bespoke kitchen in a soft yellow brightens the room and provides an original backdrop for contrasting stainless-steel details.

Orange Kitchens

Orange adds character and energy to any kitchen. On the Tuscan coast, an orange island with a matching hood is the focal point of the kitchen, making it the heart of the home.

Green Kitchens

This cooking range from the Florentina line exemplifies the vibrant use of colour in kitchen design and shows how a few colourful accents can enliven a white kitchen. The green cooking range and hood create a refreshed space, demonstrating how bold colour choices can turn the kitchen into a striking focal point.

Pink Kitchens

Delicate or more intense shades of pink can be elegant and sophisticated, as this project shows, where a custom colour, Pantone ‘Cream Tan’ 13-1108, is paired with polished copper finishes for the trims and handles. The remaining furnishings, in light tones, create a bright and welcoming atmosphere.

Red Kitchens

Vibrant and elegant, red is an energetic choice. A red bespoke kitchen with burnished brass details fits perfectly into a space with high wooden ceilings and brick arches. Red brightens dark rooms with little natural light and, when paired with natural materials such as wood and stone, avoids appearing too bright or garish.

Blue Kitchens

Blue kitchens never go out of style. Blue is a winning choice, pairing perfectly with wood, marble and terracotta. In this project, a blue-grey bespoke kitchen is matched with elegant burnished brass finishes.

Light Blue Kitchens

Light blue, a colour that immediately evokes the sky and the sea, is a calm and relaxing shade, ideal for bringing serenity into a busy kitchen. A deep light-blue kitchen island can be an eye-catching focal point in the room.

Turquoise Kitchens

For his kitchen, Edgardo Osorio, founder and Creative Director of Aquazzura, chose a turquoise colour paired with nickel finishes. The kitchen fits perfectly into the setting, characterised by striped painted parquet flooring and hand-decorated walls. On the walls, exotic motifs recall 18th-century Chinese porcelain, transporting the viewer to an exotic garden and faraway places.

Colourful kitchens are not just a trend; they reflect personality and style. Whether you choose the warmth of yellow, the energy of orange, the boldness of green, the sophistication of pink, the vibrancy of red, the calm of blue or the exotic charm of turquoise, the right colour can transform the kitchen into a unique space.
